Isaac Akuetteh was struck as he cycled along train tracks -- reportedly wearing headphones -- and his life was in danger when he arrived at the hospital in San Fermo della Battaglia.

The 15-year-old was placed into an induced coma and was in a critical condition.

On Monday, the Serie A club announced on their official website that the player had been brought out of his coma.

"For his family, the awakening of the young Rossonero is news which raises much hope," read a statement.

"At the same time, it has to be said that Rossoneri hearts are renowned for this -- fighting and never giving up."

No further details were released on the condition of the youngster.
