France to beat Netherlands, Cavani to score for Uruguay, Brazil to draw

The column more or less broke even over the weekend but a big scoop looked on the cards after Mohamed Salah (tipped to score and Liverpool to win 3-1 at 22/1) kept up his end of the bargain after notching as a rampant Liverpool raced to a 3-0 lead at Anfield. Sadly, Arsenal were wretched and failed to trouble the scorers, but it's international week now and we go again.

Running total: -£19.14

The Home Banker

In terms of quality personnel, few nations can hold a candle to France at the minute, who look value to land the 2018 World Cup next summer (current odds 11/1). The French are joint top of their World Cup qualifying group and look good things to see off Netherlands on Thursday.

Didier Deschamps has a dazzling array of attacking options at his disposal. Indeed he is so spoilt for choice he can again afford to leave out Real Madrid star Karim Benzema, who has been in international exile since October 2015. Kylian Mbappe should feature, with Monaco's teenage sensation chomping at the bit to showcase his skills as he looks set to move to PSG.

Les Bleus have won their last three against the Dutch, who have lost two out of six qualifiers to date and currently sit third in Group A. Liverpool target Virgil van Dijk misses the clash, and the French look a bet here to win an entertaining clash in Paris that's bound to feature a few goals.

Selection: £4 on France to win and both teams to score at 3/1 with bet365.

The Tasty Treble

France look the cornerstones of any self respecting international acca this week with the likes of Paul Pogba and Olivier Giroud set to turn the screw against Netherlands.

Group A rivals Sweden also look a solid call as they travel to Bulgaria on Thursday. The Swedes breezed to a 3-0 home win back in October against Bulgaria, with Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof on target. Sweden boss Janne Andersson has assembled a quality side who have lost just once in qualifying and who the bookies may be underestimating at 5/6.

Throw in Germany to beat a very limited Czech Republic side and you have a solid treble paying better than 3/1.

Selection: £3 on treble at 3.63/1 with bet365.

The Euro Wager

Portugal are European champions and should have far too much for Faroe Islands on Friday. When these teams met in October, Cristiano Ronaldo scored a golazo and while it's unclear whether the Real Madrid magician will feature, the Portuguese are on another level and it may pay out to bet on another 6-0 win at the Estadio do Bessa XXI.

Selection: Portugal to win 6-0 at 17/2 with bet365.

The Wildcard Tip

Edinson Cavani looks set to start for Uruguay when they host Argentina this week, with Luis Suarez out injured. The PSG forward has looked sharp in his last few matches and Cavani looks a tempter at 15/2 to score two goals or more.

Selection: Cavani to score 2+ goals at 15/2 with bet365.

The Bookie Basher

Brazil are piping hot favourites to beat Ecuador and while the Selecao have some outrageous quality up front it might be worth a small punt on them drawing a blank at home. Ecuador will scrap for their lives and if they can keep the shackles on Neymar and Roberto Firmino they can claim a famous point at the Gremio Arena.

Selection: £1 on No Goalscorer at 10/1 with bet365.
