Liverpool to beat Spurs at Anfield, Barcelona to shutout rivals Espanyol?
It's another huge weekend of action across Europe, where in the Premier League all eyes will be on Sunday's clash between Liverpool and Tottenham. Here's the best bets ahead of the action.
Running total: -£19.90
The Home Banker
Liverpool, who have hit 15 goals in their last five home matches in all competitions, look good things to beat Tottenham. The Reds have struggled this season against teams who show little ambition and try to hit them on the counter but have turned it on against teams who come to have a shootout with them. They put an end to Manchester City's unbeaten run at Anfield recently and if they produce a similar performance here, they look good to back. The odds at bet365 go 5/2 for a Liverpool win and both teams scoring -- that looks the punt with Harry Kane bound to cause the Reds some problems.
The Tasty Treble
Manchester United should have few problems against a Huddersfield Town side who are in freefall. The Terriers of course recorded a shock 2-1 win over United back in October but Jose Mourinho's side, who have conceded just five goals in 12 home games, are the pick here at 8/13 to win to nil. Brighton, who have lost just three of 14 games at home in all competitions, also look tempting at 6/5 to beat a West Ham side decimated by injuries. Throw in Crystal Palace at evens and you have a treble playing in excess of 6/1. The Eagles have lost just two of their last 14 Premier League matches and should be too hot for goal shy Newcastle at home.
Selection: £2 on the treble at 6.1/1 with bet365.
The Euro Wager
Barcelona will be hoping to underline their superiority in this latest Catalan derby against Espanyol. Barca have kept clean sheets in four of their last six meetings with their rivals and so even money on Ernesto Valverde's men winning this to nil looks well worth a punt.
Selection: £3 on Barcelona to win to nil at evens at bet365.
The Wildcard Tip
Arsenal enjoyed a tidy transfer window after signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan so the Gunners have some serious firepower. But as Swansea proved in midweek, there are also some glaring defensive issues to be addressed. The Gunners are a 15/8 shot (Win and Both Teams to Score) against Everton this weekend while West Brom are 5/1 to land the same bet against Southampton. The Baggies are on an upward curve under Alan Pardew and have lost just one of their last six home league games, as well as dumping Liverpool out of the FA Cup at Anfield.
The Bookie Basher
Spurs registered a fine win over Manchester United in midweek but have lost crunch away games this season at Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United. Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool have not lost any of their last seven meetings with Spurs at Anfield and a 3-1 win for the hosts can be backed at 14/1.
Selection: £1 on Liverpool to win 3-1 at 14/1 at bet365.
