Leaked Barcelona kit shows new stripe pattern for 2017-18 season
Barcelona's home kit will look a bit different next season.
The club's new sponsorship deal with Japanese e-commerce company Rakuten kicks in, replacing the familiar Qatar Airways logo, but that doesn't appear to be the only change.
Spanish news outlet Diario Sport published what they claim are leaked images of Barcelona's shirts for next season, with a new twist to the stripe pattern.
Rather than the straight vertical lines of previous years, the new kit's stripes get thinner as they contour to the sides of the shirt.
The alternate kit has also changed colour, with purple giving way to a brownish-red that is closer to Roma's traditional garb.
Sport also reported that the shirts would be officially unveiled on May 29, two days after the Copa del Rey final.
Throughout their 118-year history, Barcelona have generally used a variation on the vertical stripes -- except for the 2015-16 season, when they went horizontal and won a domestic double.
Will these shirts do as well? Time will tell...
