Denmark celebrate World Cup qualification with giant beer shower

Denmark registered an emphatic 5-1 win over the Republic of Ireland in Tuesday evening's playoff to comfortably secure their passage to the World Cup.

Having gone behind with just six minutes on the clock, the Danes roared back to well and truly trounce Ireland on home soil.

The post-match celebrations were equally as emphatic, with former Denmark international Lars Jacobsen becoming the target of a beer shower.

Christian Eriksen and company soaked Jacobson to the bone, with the ex-Everton defender forced to stand there at the pundits' table and soak it up.

This comes just a day after the Sweden squad absolutely obliterated a pitchside desk after seeing off Italy in their corresponding playoff fixture.

Chris covers the funny side of the game for ESPN FC in the Toe Poke blog.
