Borussia Dortmund reject Manchester United's £19m bid for Henrikh Mkhitaryan

As always, Transfer Talk has its finger on the pulse when it comes to the latest gossip. See the latest deals here.

TOP STORY: United's bid for Mkhitaryan knocked back

Borussia Dortmund have been fending off bids from a host of European giants attempting to prize away some of their best players like vultures, and Manchester United are the latest club to make an enquiry.

The Red Devils have tabled a £19 million bid for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to the Mirror. The Germans have reportedly rejected the bid and will continue to turn down offers for their star players after already sanctioning the sales of Mats Hummels and Ilkay Gundogan this summer.

The 27-year-old has just one year left on his current deal, and Dortmund risk losing the player for free next year. That does not appear to be a concern for the Bundesliga runners-up, and Jose Mourinho will have to look elsewhere for a playmaker.

Skrtel calls time on Anfield career

Martin Skrtel's time at Liverpool appears to be over after eight years, with the Slovakian international not to Jurgen Klopp's taste.

The 31-year-old will now link up with compatriot Miroslav Stoch at Turkish giants Fenerbahce, and the Guardian claims the Reds will pocket £7m, which appears good value for a player well past his prime.

Martin Skrtel will leave Liverpool for Fenerbahce following the Euros, according to reports.

Klopp will be on the look for more than one centre-back this summer, with Kolo Toure also heading for the exit. Only Mamadou Sakho and Dejan Lovren remain on the squad as viable first-choice options for Klopp.

Inter to beat Chelsea to Candreva

After playing his part in Italy's triumph over Belgium, talk has begun to accelerate over where Antonio Candreva will play his football next season with his time seemingly up at Lazio.

The Azzurri winger made Jan Vertonghen dizzy and his wonderful chipped ball to assist Graziano Pelle capped a shocking 2-0 victory for Antonio Conte's side vs. Belgium at Euro 2016. The former Juventus boss wants Candreva to join him at Stamford Bridge, but Inter could get there first as they already have a deal in place with the player's agent, according to Italian newspaper Gazetta della Sport.

The Nerazzurri have tabled a bid in the region of £14m-£16m, but Lazio owner Claudio Lotito is demanding £20m for the 29-year-old right-winger. Napoli are also observing matters in case they lose Jose Callejon to Atletico Madrid.

Pedro has just two Premier League goals this season for Chelsea.
Pedro arrived at Chelsea less than 12 months ago, but the Spanish international is already talking about a return to Barcelona.

Pedro seeking return ticket to Barcelona

He has only just arrived in London, but Chelsea winger Pedro wants to head back home and rejoin Barcelona after a tough season in the Premier League.

The Mirror reports that the Spain international is eager to rejoin the La Liga champions, though he is aware any deal is complicated after the Blues forked out £22m less than 12 months ago.

"Hopefully [I can return to Barcelona], but I know it's hard," he admitted. "I have already spoken about it with the president when [Barcelona] were in the [Copa del Rey] final and spoke to all the people who want me there. I've always said that I would like to retire at Barcelona."

Tap-ins

- Atletico Madrid are on the verge of signing one of Europe's finest young full-backs in Sime Vrsaljko. Spanish newspaper AS and Sky Sport Italia claim Atleti will meet Sassuolo in the coming days with the terms already agreed. Napoli had previously agreed to terms with the Neroverdi for £10m, but the 24-year-old would prefer to develop under the guidance of Diego Simeone and will provide competition for Juanfran as well as offer cover for Filipe Luis.

- The Pep Guardiola era is underway at Manchester City, and the Mail suggests free agent (and former Manchester United backup) Victor Valdes could be reunited with his former Barcelona manager at the Etihad.
