Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the Whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Ismaila Sarr to Arsenal

Sven Mislintat's regeneration of the Arsenal squad will continue, with Rennes winger Sarr reportedly in his sights. According to The Sun, Arsenal's head of recruitment has been impressed by the 20-year-old's finishing and pace, and Rennes are open to cashing in on their prized asset. Senegal international Sarr has been a Barcelona transfer target in the past and has found the net seven times in 29 appearances for the Ligue 1 side.

Kai Havertz to Arsenal

Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Havertz also reportedly forms part of Mislintat's long-term plans and Arsenal could even try and sign the Germany international in January, according to The Sun. They report that Havertz, who is one of the brightest prospects in the Bundesliga, can effectively be a replacement for Aaron Ramsey who looks to be leaving Arsenal at the end of the season. The 19-year-old has made 73 appearances for Leverkusen since making his debut in 2016.

Cesc Fabregas to Atletico Madrid

Fabregas may want a new contract at Chelsea but his lack of first-team football under Maurizio Sarri implies he may have to leave, with Atletico joining the list of suitors. Fabregas is a free agent next summer and has indicated he would like to stay at Stamford Bridge, however the Spain international is well down the pecking order under Sarri. The Mirror claim that, along with AC Milan, Atletico could seek to open talks with the midfielder in January.

Oliver Burke to Tottenham

Burke has barely featured for West Brom in the Championship this season but he has a long list of admirers in the Premier League, reportedly led by Tottenham. The Sun reveal that scouts from Spurs, Newcastle and Brighton attended the Baggies' Checkatrade Trophy tie with Blackpool last week to watch the 21-year-old winger. With Burke's transfer value still high, West Brom hope his sale can fund squad reinforcements in January.

Gary Cahill to West Ham

Cahill is open to offers in January and West Ham are considering make an approach for the Chelsea centre-back. The 32-year-old accepts it may be time to move on as he isn't part of Maurizio Sarri's plans at Stamford Bridge and is out of contract next summer. The Mirror report that Hammers boss Mauricio Pellegrini is keen to add to his squad in the new year and has the backing of the board.
