One moment set Adelaide's Marco Kurz and Victory's Kevin Muscat on very different paths

Perth Glory move nine points clear at the top of the Hyundai A-League with a 2-0 win over Adelaide United.
Shayon Harrison scored his first goal in the A-League to help Melbourne City to a 2-0 win at the Leichhardt Oval.
Wellington Phoenix put on a show in the first half of their game against Western Sydney Wanderers.
VAR denied Newcastle Jets a point after Ben Kennedy saved a penalty to seal all three points for the Central Coast Mariners.

Games of football are defined by a fluid narrative. One thing happens, followed by another, and then another. The referee's whistle is seemingly the only protection against the possibility of infinitely alternate realities.

So much in football rests on the timing of a movement or decision, or the mere bounce of the ball, creating perpetual causality.

With the confirmation Adelaide United will not extend Marco Kurz's contract at the end of this A-League season, and the dominant thought of football...

Marco Kurz's Adelaide United departure down to a lack of 'common vision'

Departing Adelaide United coach Marco Kurz says there's no point signing a fresh contract with the A-League club because of a lack of "common vision."

"During my meeting with Piet I realised quickly that we do not have a common vision for the future of Adelaide United," Kurz said in a statement on Tuesday.

"Our goals are very different and therefore a renewal of my contract does not make sense."

Diego Castro and Andy Keogh scored as Perth Glory secured a 2-0 away win at Adelaide United to continue their march towards the Premiers Plate.

Castro's deflected first-half strike was followed by substitute Keogh's clinical second-half finish at Coopers Stadium on Friday.

Perth's comprehensive triumph extends their lead at the top of the table to nine points ahead of weekend games.

But fifth-placed Adelaide, now five games without a win, could slip to sixth by the end of the round, with their finals...

Marco Kurz in dark over his Adelaide United future

Marco Kurz
Adelaide manager Marco Kurz has sought contract discussions with Piet van der Pol for weeks but is yet to get a reply from the chairman.

Marco Kurz wants to know his future at Adelaide United, but the manager can't get a response from the A-League club's chairman.

Kurz, who is off-contract at the end of May, has sought discussions with Piet van der Pol for weeks but is yet to get a reply from the chairman. Van der Pol had previously agreed to open talks with Kurz about his future at the end of February.

"I'm still waiting for him to contact me, as promised," Kurz told reporters on Thursday. "I left him a message message four weeks...
