Dortmund's DFB Pokal quarterfinal postponed by snow; Eintracht advance

Play could not proceed in Lotte on Tuesday night.

Borussia Dortmund's DFB Pokal quarterfinal match at Sportfreunde Lotte scheduled for Wednesday was postponed less than an hour before kickoff because of snow.

The teams had already announced their lineups and were preparing to play when the game was called off, with referee Felix Brych citing safety issues. Hours before, Dortmund's team bus got stuck at the stadium and had to be freed by a tractor.

"The pitch is totally soaked. There was a lot of rain in the night and the heavy snow-shower...

Bayern edge Wolfsburg to reach Pokal quarters; Bobby Wood lifts Hamburg

A first-half strike from Douglas Costa was enough for holders Bayern Munich to edge Wolfsburg 1-0 at home and scrape into the DFB Pokal quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Costa scored with a deflected shot in the 18th minute, but Bayern failed to build on their greater possession and were made to suffer late on as Wolfsburg grew in confidence.

Yunus Malli should have equalised with less than 10 minutes remaining, but Manuel Neuer denied his solo effort and the Bayern goalkeeper was called into action...

Third-league leaders Arminia Bielefeld gave it their all, but still lost 4-0. But the supporters celebrated their heroes regardless.

When it was all said and done some 10 minutes from time, the Bielefeld supporters bid farewell to the away end. "You can go home," the packed...

Wolfsburg joined Borussia Dortmund in the final of the DFB-Pokal after ending third-tier Arminia Bielefeld's cup dreams with a 4-0 win in East Westphalia.

The Wolves' win was never in doubt after Maximilian Arnold gave them an early lead and Luiz Gustavo doubled their advantage before the interval.

Ivan Perisic and another Arnold strike sealed the Wolves' place in the Berlin final, where they will battle it out with Dortmund for the silverware at the end of the month.
