Bari condemn ultras who torched Lecce fans' bus on way to Roma

Serie C club Bari have condemned a group of their supporters who appear to have torched a minibus carrying fans of local rivals Lecce as they travelled for their top-flight match at Roma on Sunday.

Around 150 Bari supporters are alleged to have attacked the two mini buses, with images having shown one was set on fire, while the other was badly damaged. Both Bari and Lecce are from the Puglia region in the south of Italy.

Napoli president Auerlio De Laurentiis takes over Serie D side Bari

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has bought Bari and said his son would be taking the role of president there.

De Laurentiis had a bid for the club, in Serie D after being declared bankrupt at the end of last season, accepted ahead of an offer from Lazio president Claudio Lotito.

His takeover saw banners appear in Naples overnight, with one reading: "Don't stop with Bari -- buy other clubs too, just as long as you leave our city."

Serie B playoffs postponed as Bari face points deduction

The Serie B promotion playoffs have been postponed by a week because Bari could be deducted two points on Friday.

Bari were due to host Cittadella on Saturday, with Perugia playing at Venezia the following day.

Malaysian businessman Datuk Dr Noordin Ahmad has bought Italian football club Bari.

In a statement released by the club, it was confirmed that a preliminary agreement was made on April 8 when Datuk Noordin acquired a 50 percent stake of the Italian side.

Fans who attended Bari's 2-0 home defeat to Lecce in Serie A on May 15, 2011, have been awarded €400 each in damages after it was proven that the game had been fixed.
