Barnsley duo Andy Yiadom and Zeki Fryers are back in contention for the home game against Brentford.

Yiadom and Fryers were left out for the midweek defeat at Nottingham Forest, but boss Jose Morais has confirmed both defenders are available.

The Reds, aiming to climb out of the bottom three with two games remaining, will assess centre-halves Adam Jackson and Liam Lindsay, who sustained knocks on Tuesday night.

Morais must decide whether to retain Jack Walton in goal after he made his debut at Forest,...

Nottingham Forest left Barnsley fighting for Championship survival as Aitor Karanka's side cruised to a comfortable 3-0 success at the City Ground.

Lee Tomlin scored a spectacular goal of his own, before setting up another for Ben Brereton, and sub Apostolos Vellios netted a late third, as Karanka dealt a severe blow to his old friend, Tykes boss Jose Morais, who he worked alongside at Real Madrid under Jose Mourinho.

There was no favours to be done between friends here, as Forest won to leave Barnsley...

Paul Heckingbottom helped push his old club closer to relegation as his Leeds side beat Barnsley 2-1 at a sun-drenched Elland Road.

Heckingbottom left Oakwell under a cloud in February and he did his hometown club no favours on Saturday, with the defeat leaving the Reds two points from safety.

Left-back Tom Pearce netted his first goal on only his third appearance to put Leeds ahead but Barnsley were level at the break after fellow youngster Paudie O'Connor put through his own net.

Oliver McBurnie's last-gasp header earned Barnsley a point in a dramatic 2-2 draw with relegation rivals Bolton at Oakwell.

Gary Gardner opened the scoring in the first half before goals from Adam Le Fondre and Craig Noone looked to have won it for the Trotters in the final 10 minutes.

However, McBurnie popped up deep in stoppage time to score a header from point-blank range to salvage a point for the hosts.

The result meant Barnsley remained in 22nd spot in the Sky Bet Championship, but remained just...

Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy has quit his post four games early following his side's 1-0 home win over his former club Barnsley.

The 59-year-old had been due to leave the Championship outfit at the end of the season but instead quit after Jonas Knudsen's 54th-minute goal left the team 12th in the table and above rivals Norwich on goal difference.

The former Republic of Ireland manager had been linked with becoming Barnsley's manager earlier in the season after Paul Heckingbottom left Oakwell to manage...
