Farid Boulaya joins La Liga new boys Girona

Algerian midfielder Farid Boulaya has completed a move to Girona FC from SC Bastia, signing a three-year deal with the Spanish side.

Newly promoted Girona have confirmed the move on their official website, revealing that the 24-year-old completed his medical tests in Spain before flying to Manchester to join his teammates for preseason training.

SC Bastia extend Abdoulaye Keita deal

Abdoulaye Keita has signed a two-year deal with SC Bastia after having come to the end of his previous contract.

Bastia part company with coach Rui Almeida as troubles deepen

Rui Almeida and Bastia have parted company.

Coach Rui Almeida has left Bastia, the club have announced.

Bastia were relegated from Ligue 1 on the last day of the season after defeat to Marseille, and were last week further demoted on financial grounds subject to an appeal.

As things stand they will line up in the third tier, the Championnat National, and will have to do so under a new coach.

Bastia's clash with Lyon players in April ensured their relegation.

Bastia have failed in an appeal after their match against Lyon last month was awarded to their opponents.

The game, on April 16 at the Stade Armand-Cesari, was abandoned at half-time after Bastia fans invaded the pitch for a second time to confront Lyon players.
