Gladbach's cabbage-patch pitch shocks Borussia Dortmund

Borussia-Park's pitch has seen better days.

Borussia Dortmund got more than they bargained for when they made the trip to take on Borussia Monchengladbach on Sunday -- a pitch that was more suited to a cabbage patch or a farmer's field than football.

The surface at Gladbach's Borussia-Park home almost looked stitched together like some kind of home-made quilt.

Mario Gotze told Bild: "The first 20 minutes it was a bit like ice skating. That pitch was nearly as good as my backyard."

Borussia Dortmund manager Peter Stoger explains what it means to finally be able to see Marco Reus, Mario Gotze and Andre Schurrle link up with one another.

Marco Reus scored his first goal since returning from a nearly nine-month injury layoff as Borussia Dortmund secured a 1-0 victory at Borussia Monchengladbach.

Reus, in his third appearance since injuring a knee in the DFB Pokal final against Eintracht Frankfurt in May, slotted home the winner in the 32nd minute.

The victory moved Dortmund second in the Bundesliga on 40 points -- 19 behind runaway leaders Bayern Munich -- with third-place RB Leipzig still yet to face Frankfurt on Monday.

West Ham's Reece Oxford returns to Borussia Monchengladbach on loan

Reece Oxford
Reece Oxford has played for West Ham and Borussia Monchengladbach this season.

West Ham defender Reece Oxford will return to Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach on loan for the rest of the season.

The 19-year-old, who can also play in midfield, made four appearances for Gladbach in the first half of the campaign before being recalled by the Hammers at the back end of last month, with manager David Moyes keen on giving him a chance to shine.

He featured in their win over Shrewsbury and last weekend's defeat at Wigan in the FA Cup and made a cameo off the bench in Tuesday's...

Eintracht Frankfurt earned a long-awaited home win as a 2-0 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach saw them climb up to second in the Bundesliga.

Just like in the reverse fixture in September, Kevin Boateng scored for the Eagles. Luka Jovic struck in injury time to seal a first win for Eintracht at Waldstadion since the start of November.

Marius Wolf and Timothy Chandler had threatened for the hosts before Boateng slid the ball home from close range two minutes shy of half-time.

Borussia Monchengladbach want Reece Oxford back from West Ham

West Ham United's Reese Oxford was recalled from a loan to Borussia Monchengladbach in December.

Borussia Monchengladbach have not given up on keeping West Ham United defender Reece Oxford, who was recalled early from his loan stint with the Bundesliga side in December.

Despite only making three Bundesliga appearances, the Foals hoped to keep Oxford, 19, at the Borussia Park at least until the end of the season.

Although he joined Gladbach on a one-year loan in the summer, West Ham opted to recall the England youth international early amid reported interest from RB Leipzig.

Gladbach, however,...
