League One bottom club Bury came from behind as they snatched a dramatic late 2-1 win over Oxford United at the Kassam Stadium.

Substitutes George Miller and Harry Bunn were the Shakers' heroes as the visitors scored for the first time in nine league games to end their run of eight successive defeats in all competitions.

James Henry had put Oxford in front the stroke of half-time. On-loan Manchester City winger Isaac Buckley-Ricketts won the ball to set up Dwight Tiendalli, whose low cross was turned...

Bury are now 12 points from safety after suffering their eighth straight defeat - and they have now gone 754 minutes without scoring a league goal.

Ben Reeves and Josh Magennis went close for Charlton before Bury's James Hanson headed wide.

Plymouth Argyle extended their unbeaten run to seven games and climbed into the top half of the Sky Bet League One table with a 3-0 home win over bottom club Bury.

The hosts got off to a flying start when coveted midfielder Toumani Diagouraga dived full length to head home David Fox's 30-yard free-kick after 14 minutes.

Argyle surged further ahead in the 41st minute when Graham Carey followed up his saved penalty to calmly clip the ball past unlucky keeper Connor Ripley, who had made a superb stop...

Defender Charlie Goode smashed home a late winner as promotion-chasing Scunthorpe edged a 1-0 victory over bottom side Bury to make a winning start to 2018.

The goal came four minutes from time, on the back of a goalmouth scramble, which ended the Shakers' stubborn resistance.

A point would have done little to help the visitors' survival aspirations, but they were unlucky not to hold on for a morale-boosting draw having frustrated their hosts for long spells of a largely-forgettable clash.

The hosts went close early on through Andrew Tutte and Jay O'Shea before Fleetwood's Cian Bolger headed wide.
