Marco Storari has returned to AC Milan from Cagliari.

Marco Storari has rejoined AC Milan on loan from Cagliari as the Serie A clubs swapped goalkeepers on Tuesday.

Storari will join Milan until his contract expires at the end of the season, while Brazilian goalkeeper Gabriel moves to the Sardinian club on loan after extending his Milan contract through the 2018-19 season.

Storari, 40, will serve as a reserve to 17-year-old Gianluigi Donnarumma.

He previously spent two brief spells -- making just 13 appearances -- at Milan before moving to Juventus...

Fresh off their Italian Super Cup win over Juventus, fifth-placed AC Milan needed a late goal to beat visitors Cagliari 1-0 on Sunday.

Carlos Bacca scored from close range two minutes from the final whistle after being set up by Gianluca Lapadula.

Cagliari ended with 10 men when Bruno Alves was sent off for pulling down Bacca just outside the area to prevent a clear scoring opportunity in second-half stoppage time.

Francesco Acerbi's penalty after the break put Sassuolo two goals ahead, only for Marco Borriello's thunderous strike and Sau's second to level things up.

Then, with time running out, Brazilian...

Levan Mchedlidze scored twice as Empoli pulled away from the drop zone with a 2-0 home win over Cagliari.

The Georgian striker had both of his goals laid on by Guido Marilungo, who picked out Mchedlidze in the Sardinians' box in the eighth minute before finding his team-mate again 18 minutes from time.

Empoli dominated from start to finish and Marilungo could have got on the scoresheet had he directed a right-footed shot on target just after the half-hour mark.
