Former QPR defender Christopher Samba was charged after reacting to racist abuse in Russia.

Dinamo Moscow defender Christopher Samba has been banned for two matches by the Russian Football Union (RFU) after responding to racist abuse in a match against Torpedo Moscow.

Samba, 30, stuck his middle finger up to Torpedo fans on Sept. 22 before being substituted at half-time.

The RFU has said the former Queens Park Rangers and Blackburn centre-back's actions were an "unpleasant gesture" and that it had little option but to ban him.

Congolese defender Christopher Samba faces a possible ban for his response to racist abuse in the Russian league.

The former Queens Park Rangers and Blackburn player was subjected to racist abuse by fans of Torpedo Moscow while playing for Dynamo Moscow on Sunday.

Samba was substituted at halftime in apparent distress at the abuse, but faces a Russian Football Union charge he displayed an "unpleasant gesture" to Torpedo fans. The RFU did not elaborate.
