James Keatings marked his first start with a goal as Hibernian beat Raith 2-0.

The former Hearts forward netted the opener in the 22nd minute when he found the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

Keatings also played a role in Hibs' second, flicking on Lewis Stevenson's cross for Jason Cummings to prod home five minutes after half-time.

Raith almost halved the deficit on two occasions but goalkeeper Mark Oxley denied James Craigen and Craig Wighton.

Hibernian progressed to the third round of the Scottish League Cup with a 1-0 win over Stranraer on Wednesday.

Scott Rumsby's 54th-minute own goal was enough to send the Championship side through at Easter Road.

Defender Darren McGregor, who signed for Hibs from Rangers earlier this week, made his debut for the club as the home side dominated possession and chances in the first half, Jason Cummings and Fraser Fyvie both with bright efforts.

The story was the same in the second half and Hibs took the...

A wonderful second-half free-kick from James Tavernier proved enough to beat Hibernian and take Rangers back to the top of the Ladbrokes Championship.

Mark Warburton's side had beaten the Easter Road men 6-2 in their Petrofac Training Cup encounter at the start of the season but there was no chance of a repeat at Ibrox.

Indeed, Alan Stubbs' side missed chances before and after the 23-year-old former Wigan player dipped his set-piece from outside the box over Hibees keeper Mark Oxley in the 65th minute...

Jason Cummings came off the bench to give Hibernian their first league win of the season as they beat Morton 1-0 at Easter Road in the Ladbrokes Scottish Championship.

Liam Fontaine headed over an early opportunity for the hosts before Morton enjoyed the early pressure without creating any chances.

Hibs' Dominique Malonga and John McGinn fired wide, team-mate Fraser Fyvie soon forcing Derek Gaston into making a stunning reaction save with 32 minutes on the clock.

Morton's best chance of the first half...

Celtic sign midfielder Scott Allan from Hibernian

Scott Allan will move to Hibernian to Celtic after signing a four-year deal.

Celtic have confirmed the signing of midfielder Scott Allan on a four-year deal from Hibernian.

Allan, a boyhood fan of Celtic's Old Firm rivals Rangers, underwent a medical on Friday ahead of his move to the Scottish champions.

Rangers had, in fact, failed with three bids for Allan, but the 23-year-old former West Brom player will now turn out for Ronny Deila's side in the Premiership.

He told the Celtic website: "I am absolutely delighted to sign for Celtic, such a fantastic club. It is such an...
