Lille claimed their first Ligue 1 win of the season but their 1-0 victory against newly promoted Gazelec Ajaccio was far from straightforward.

Sofiane Boufal's classy 23rd-minute finish from Djibril Sidibe's pass proved the difference between the sides.

The home team had strong claims for a penalty rejected when Clement Maury appeared to trip Baptiste Guillaume soon after the restart, but they struggled to impress.

Manchester City sell Marcos Lopes to Monaco for £9 million

ESPN FC's Raphael Honigstein responds to the reports suggesting Kevin De Bruyne's possible transfer from VfL Wolfsburg to Manchester City.
Marcos Lopes will return to Ligue 1 to join Monaco on a permanent basis.

MANCHESTER -- Manchester City sold Marcos Lopes to Monaco for £9 million on Friday, minutes after manager Manuel Pellegrini said he thought the winger would go out on loan.

The Portugal under-21 international, 20, enjoyed a successful season on loan in France last year when playing for Lille.

And now Lopes, who scored one goal in five games for City, has returned to Ligue 1 by signing for the Champions League quarterfinalists.

Lopes was deemed surplus to requirements at the Etihad...

Lille and Bordeaux both remain winless after sharing an entertaining goalless draw at Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

The result means Lille remain without a goal after three games, although they could not have come much closer after hitting the woodwork three times.

Bordeaux striker Enzo Crivelli had the first notable effort on goal midway through the first half when his shot was turned behind by Vincent Enyeama.

Baptiste Guillaume hit the outside of the post at the other end before Marko Basa put a golden chance...

Monaco's Nabil Dirar, left, vies for the ball with Lille midfielder Soualiho Meite on Friday.

Monaco failed to make it back-to-back wins at the start of the Ligue 1 season as Lille held them to a goalless draw at the Stade Louis II.

Hosts Monaco, who beat Nice 2-1 last time, had plenty of chances in the first half but Lille goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama produced the goods to deny them.

Lille were a different team in the second half and could easily have scored a few themselves but for Danijel Subasic's efforts in the Monaco goal.

The game's bizarre element came deep in the second half when...

Lucas Moura's goal was all PSG needed to defeat Lille.

Paris Saint-Germain got their Ligue 1 title defence off to a winning start, but only after playing for more than an hour with 10 men.

Laurent Blanc's men, without the unfit Zlatan Ibrahimovic and new signing Angel Di Maria, lost 20-year-old midfielder Adrien Rabiot to a red card in only the 28th minute, picking up two bookings in the space of six minutes.

But Lille never looked likely to cause them too many problems and the visitors scored the decisive goal 12 minutes into the second half when Lucas...
