Western Sydney and Adelaide set for Spanish-themed A-League Grand Final

After a slow start to the season, Adelaide United are Premier Plate holders and have home advantage for the Grand Final against Western Sydney.

History will be made in the A-League this weekend as Adelaide United and Western Sydney Wanderers contest the Grand Final on Sunday. Neither team has won the championship before, but either would be a worthy winner.

Alex Wilkinson has opted to switch Melbourne City for Sydney FC.

Melbourne City will start the search for Alex Wilkinson's replacement, but will take their time finding the best player to fill the Socceroo centre-back's shoes.

Wilkinson signed a two-year deal with Sydney FC on Tuesday, bringing an end to his three-month stint with City.

The 31-year-old joined City in February after leaving South Korea's K-League title-winning outfit Jeonbuk Motors late last year, but had left his future open following the end of this A-League season.

Diego Castro joined Perth Glory from Getafe in the summer.

Perth Glory winger Diego Castro has won the top individual honour in Australia's A-League.

Castro earned 34 votes, one clear of Aaron Mooy and seven ahead of Bruno Fornaroli, both of Melbourne City.

The Spaniard scored 13 goals in his first A-League season after moving from Spanish club Getafe last August.
