Millwall chief 'cannot condone' fans' behaviour at Wembley

Millwall fans came onto the pitch at Wembley as their club won promotion.

Millwall chief executive Steve Kavanagh has warned supporters they are responsible for their own behaviour following the unsavoury scenes at the end of Saturday's League One playoff final victory over Bradford.

Lions fans spilled on to the Wembley turf to celebrate promotion to the Championship, with some confronting and goading opposition players.

The English Football League has called for police to take action against the culprits, branding them "mindless", while Kavanagh said the club could not...

Millwall star Steve Morison blasts playoff final pitch pitch invaders

Millwall fans spilled onto the pitch at the end of the final.

Millwall striker Steve Morison has criticised the fans who invaded the Wembley pitch after the League One playoff final, saying they "should hang their heads in shame."

Morison scored the 85th-minute winner against Bradford City that earned Millwall promotion to the Championship after two seasons in the third tier, but was angered when fans spilled onto the pitch after the final whistle.

Several hundred made it onto the playing surface -- the first pitch invasion in the history of the new Wembley...

Steve Morison scored a late Wembley winner to clinch Millwall a 1-0 win against Bradford in the League One playoff final.

Veteran striker Morison stole in at the far post as the tie appeared destined for extra-time to grab an 85th-minute winner and end the Londoners' two-year absence from the Championship.

It was the evergreen Morison's 19th goal of the season and in a stroke expunged the memory of last season's play-off final defeat to Barnsley.

Bradford, beaten by Millwall in the semi-finals last...

Millwall moved a step closer to exorcising last season's play-off demons in Sky Bet League One by securing themselves a return trip to Wembley on the back of a 3-2 win at Scunthorpe.

Twelve months ago the Lions were beaten 3-1 by Barnsley, who had only secured their place in the top six on the final day of the campaign.

Seven of their squad that day started at Glanford Park, including experienced striker Steve Morison.

The 33-year-old excelled against the Iron, scoring two goals and setting up the other...

Scunthorpe took a significant step towards reaching the League One play-off final after resisting intense Millwall pressure to earn a 0-0 away draw in their semi-final first leg.

Graham Alexander's team offered very little in attack but consistently absorbed the finest their hosts offered and, after five straight wins before their trip to The Den, they will expect to finish the job in the second leg on Sunday.

Millwall have been inconsistent in recent weeks, while this season, Scunthorpe have more...
