New York Red Bulls stay top of MLS Power Rankings, Vancouver second

Relive the top goals from around Major League Soccer in Week 31, including David Texeira's stunner in FC Dallas' 4-1 win over Houston Dynamo.

On a weekend when plenty of the league's top teams failed to make the most of their opportunities, the New York Red Bulls proved to be the exception, beating Columbus 2-1 and keeping the top spot in ESPN FC's MLS Power Rankings.

1. New York Red Bulls (no change)

The Red Bulls bounced back nicely from last week's hiccup against Orlando by coming back to beat Columbus 2-1. Bradley Wright-Phillips hasn't been able to match last year's record-tying pace but 15 goals isn't a bad haul for a retooled...

Toronto FC close in on first-ever playoff berth, Red Bulls top Crew

Toronto FC were able to inch closer to securing a spot in the playoffs winning their Major League Soccer match at home against the Philadelphia Union.

Sebastian Giovinco and Jozy Altidore scored as Toronto FC beat the Philadelphia Union 3-1 on Saturday to close in on the first playoff berth in franchise history.

Toronto improved to 14-13-4. Philadelphia (9-16-7) was eliminated from playoff contention.

Giovinco, taking his third free kick of the first half, converted in the 28th minute from the edge of the penalty box when his shot deflected off Raymon Gaddis in the wall and looped high into the far corner of the goal. Giovinco has 21 goals this...

Red Bulls' Matt Miazga will deserve USMNT call-up soon, says Andi Herzog

It was an action-packed match at Red Bull Arena that saw a total of seven goals, an MLS rookie scoring record, a hat trick and a red card. Orlando City came out victorious against the New York Red Bulls by a score of 5-2.
Red Bulls defender Matt Miazga has impressed United States under-23 coach Andi Herzog recently.

New York Red Bulls center-back Matt Miazga could earn a spot in the United States senior side in the coming months, under-23 national team coach Andi Herzog says.

Miazga, 20, is just a few months removed from playing for the U.S. at this summer's under-20 World Cup and will start for the U.S. under-23s during CONCACAF Olympic qualifying this week.

And speaking ahead of their first game on Thursday, Herzog said it won't be long until the Red Bulls' 6-foot-3 young star is playing for Jurgen Klinsmann.
