Newcastle's loss to Swansea raises relegation concerns

John Carver's problems took a turn for the worse as Swansea condemned Newcastle to an unwanted, club-record seventh successive Premier League defeat.
Swansea City manager Garry Monk says he's proud of the team, and believed his side could achieve something special at the end of the season.

Newcastle United seem to doing everything they can to be involved in the relegation scrap in the Premier League. It all looked so straight-forward against a Swansea team that had nothing to play for at St James' Park.

Newcastle were 1-0 up thanks to Ayoze Perez's first-half goal and the only criticism seemed to be that they should have added to their tally. But, oh no, Newcastle couldn't get through a game without being controversial or pressing the self-destruct button.
