Man United, Lyon and Schalke all reach Europa League quarterfinals

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Juan Mata combined for a beautiful goal that was the lone bright spot for Manchester United on the night.

A Juan Mata goal gave Manchester United a 1-0 win over Rostov at Old Trafford to send them into the Europa League quarterfinals with a 2-1 victory on aggregate on Thursday.

Manchester United draw at Rostov in Europa League as Lyon beat Roma

Henrikh Mkhitaryan hit home an important away goal for Man United who were held to a 1-1 draw with Rostov.

Olympiakos sack Paulo Bento after third straight league defeat

Most experts predict that Paulo Bento's Portugal team will be bidding adieu to Brazil following Thursday's group stage finale versus Ghana.
Paulo Bento was hired by Olympiakos in August of last year.

Greek league leader Olympiakos have fired former Portugal coach Paulo Bento as manager after a third straight league defeat.

The club said on Monday that youth coach Vassilis Vouzas has been appointed caretaker coach.

Olympiakos have only lost two league titles since 2000 and currently lead with 51 points from 23 matches.

But their advantage was narrowed further by a 2-0 loss at PAOK on Sunday.

Bento, a former national team defender and coach, took over at Olympiakos in August last year.
