New signing Michael Smith could be handed a first start for Rotherham as they attempt to boost their League One play-off hopes against Portsmouth.

Striker Smith, who joined the Millers from Bury last week, was used as a second-half substitute in the 1-1 draw at Oldham last weekend, but will look to force his way into manager Paul Warne's plans for former club Pompey's visit to the AESSEAL New York Stadium.

Warne named an unchanged team for the trip to SportsDirect.com Park, where Jon Taylor was an...

Jamal Lowe's first goal since September wasn't enough to fire Portsmouth to victory as they were pegged back by Scunthorpe in a 1-1 draw at Fratton Park.

Lowe hit his fifth goal of the season after committing his future to the south coast side this week but his first-half effort was cancelled out by Kevin van Veen after the break.

Scunthorpe should have gone ahead after just two minutes when Tom Hopper controlled a long ball over the top in the area but failed to get his shot away quickly enough.

A 90th-minute goal from substitute Liam Sercombe capped a storming Bristol Rovers comeback as they beat Portsmouth 2-1 at the Memorial Stadium.

Sercombe struck the winner six minutes after Stuart Sinclair had cancelled out Oliver Hawkins' opener as Rovers ended a four-match winless run.

Neither side posed much of an attacking threat in the first half.

Billy Bodin had an early shot saved for Rovers and fired wide from one of their better opportunities after 38 minutes, while at the other end Jamal Lowe...

Ollie Hawkins bagged a brace to fire Portsmouth to another victory as they came from behind to win 3-1 against Northampton at Fratton Park.

Pompey made it eight wins from their last 10 matches to stay in the play-off places heading into 2018.

The home side could have taken the lead after just six minutes when Hawkins was played in by Brett Pitman but visiting goalkeeper Matt Ingram was quick off his line to make the save.

Northampton then surprised the hosts when they went ahead in the 36th minute through...

Brett Pitman fired his Portsmouth side to victory from the penalty spot as they beat Wimbledon 2-1 at Fratton Park.

Pitman smashed his effort from 12-yards out into the roof of the net to bag his 13th goal of the season.

But it was Wimbledon who had the first effort of the match after just two minutes when Cody McDonald struck his shot just wide of the Luke McGee's post.

It was Pompey who took the lead after a lacklustre 45 minutes though when midfielder Ben Close slotted his effort into the bottom...
