Prem Forecaster: LFC on top-4 bubble

Liverpool, which is unbeaten in 12 straight Premier League games, continues to steadily climb the league table.
Liverpool, which is unbeaten in 12 straight Premier League games, continues to steadily climb the league table.

In three rounds of Premier League games since Insider's previous Prem Forecaster, little has ultimately changed in the title or relegation races, though Chelsea did stumble momentarily. The Champions League race is where the true drama took place, as one team's struggles were a boon for two others.

As a reminder, the Forecaster is an end-of-season table projection fueled by ESPN's Soccer Power Index (SPI), a regression-based algorithm designed to predict soccer matches. SPI simulates the remainder of the season 10,000 times, using the odds of each projected match, with the end result presented in the table below.

In this edition we examine table risers and fallers over the past few weeks; break down the title, Champions League and relegation battles; and preview an upcoming match with major Champions League qualification implications. To begin, here's our updated top-to-bottom table forecast:

QPR's Nedum Onuoha left with huge cut after Steven Caulker collision

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and QPR boss Chris Ramsey react to the Gunners' 2-1 win in the Premier League.

Queens Park Rangers defender Nedum Onuoha was left with a horrific cut following an on-pitch collision with teammate Steven Caulker.

Onuoha and Caulker collided during QPR's 2-1 defeat to Arsenal on Wednesday, with the pair clashing heads while both attempting to win a header.

Onuoha -- who was making his first start following a return from a hamstring problem -- was forced off after the incident, although the extent of the injury he suffered was unclear at the time.

Ramsey makes his first error as Sanchez outfoxes QPR

Alexis Sanchez scored a decisive second for Arsenal in their win at QPR, and Chris Ramsey's team selection has been questioned as a result.

Chris Ramsey has had an almost faultless start to his tenure as QPR boss. He's revitalised dwindling morale and ended the club's away-day hoodoo, but not playing Mauricio Isla against Alexis Sanchez in the 2-1 defeat to Arsenal on Wednesday night may have been his first error.

Isla has just come back from an injury but was fit enough to play, as confirmed by the manager at his media briefing on the eve of the match, but he was overlooked for exciting academy graduate Darnell Furlong.
