Birmingham maintained their unbeaten away league record this season with a 1-1 draw at QPR.

Lukas Jutkiewicz put the visitors ahead on 23 minutes at Loftus Road, where Steven Caulker's equaliser earned struggling Rangers a point.

Caulker headed home Tjaronn Chery's right-wing corner six minutes before half-time.

It was a much-needed boost for Rangers, who were recently hammered 6-0 at home by Newcastle and struggled to create clear-cut chances during the first half against a well-organised Blues side.

Paddy McNair scored twice and Patrick van Aanholt returned to action as Sunderland beat QPR 2-1 to reach the fourth round of the EFL Cup.

Sandro put the home side in front on the hour with an impressive strike from just inside the area, after goalkeepers Matt Ingram and Jordan Pickford each made a number of fine saves in the first half.

McNair's brace, though, was enough to see the Premier League side progress.

Goals from Elias Kachunga and Kasey Palmer gave Huddersfield a sixth win in eight league games to keep them top of the Championship with a 2-1 victory over QPR.

Kachunga, on loan from German club FC Ingolstadt and in his first season in English football, struck his third goal of the season.

The striker's second half header inflicted a second successive defeat on Rangers, who crashed 6-0 at home to Newcastle on Tuesday. Palmer had put Town ahead in the first half and QPR substitute Idrissa Sylla pulled...

QPR's Les Ferdinand quashes reports West Brom's Tony Pulis could take over

Tony Pulis attended QPR's 6-0 defeat to Newcastle.

QPR director of football Les Ferdinand has dismissed speculation that manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink could be replaced by West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis.

Reports have suggested Pulis could be offered the opportunity to take over at the Championship side, who lost 6-0 at home to Newcastle on Tuesday, if he leaves West Brom.

Pulis, whose future with the Baggies has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks, sat next to Ferdinand at the game.

But former QPR striker Ferdinand said: "Tony...

Jonjo Shelvey scored twice as Newcastle hammered QPR 6-0 in a totally one-sided game at Loftus Road - Rangers' heaviest-ever home league defeat.

There were also goals for Ayoze Perez, Ciaran Clark, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Grant Hanley as the Magpies, who were twice denied by the woodwork, stormed to their fifth consecutive win.

They went ahead in the 12th minute, when Shelvey's shot took a deflection off Karl Henry, wrongfooting keeper Alex Smithies.

And they doubled their lead on the half-hour mark...
