Josh Windass scored a hat trick as Rangers moved back up to second in the Scottish Premiership following a 5-3 comeback victory over Hamilton at the SuperSeal Stadium.

The first half turned out to be a six-goal thriller as Rangers took command thanks to Windass' brace and strikes from Alfredo Morelos and Jamie Murphy.

Hamilton, who led early through Darren Lyon's strike and briefly levelled the score at 2-2 after David Templeton netted, limited the damage after the break.

But the hosts remain second-bottom...

Rangers survived an early scare against Ayr United to cruise into the Scottish Cup quarterfinals with a thumping 6-1 win at Somerset Park.

Alan Forrest, brother of Celtic winger James Forrest, took advantage of a mistake by Gers goalkeeper Wed Foderingham to give the League One side a shock lead in the 10th minute before returning striker Alfredo Morelos levelled on the half-hour.

Graeme Murty's side were ruthless after the break as Jason Cummings struck from close range in the 65th minute before...

Strikes from Josh Windass and James Tavernier gave Rangers a business-like 2-0 Scottish Premiership win at Partick Thistle.

A clinical finish by attacker Windass in the 38th minute had Graeme Murty's side ahead at the interval at The Energy Check Stadium, with the home side frustrated when a shot by returning striker Conor Sammon just before half-time rebounded off the post and stayed out.

With another moment of quality in the 58th minute right-back Tavernier doubled the Light Blues' lead with a...

Rangers blew the chance to close ground on leaders Celtic as strikes from John McGinn and Jamie MacLaren handed Hibernian a 2-1 win at Ibrox.

The Ibrox men could have cut the gap on Brendan Rodgers' men to 11 points with a game in hand by beating Neil Lennon's side.

But despite cancelling out McGinn's first-half opener with a Sean Goss free-kick, it was the Leith side who claimed the points.

Substitute MacLaren had been thrown on after just five minutes for the injured Brandon Barker and claimed...

Josh Windass' hat-trick gave Rangers a 3-0 victory as they produced a professional display to dispatch Fraserburgh from the William Hill Scottish Cup.

The clash took place 59 years to the day that the Highland League minnows knocked Dundee - then one of Scotland's strongest sides sitting atop the old First Division - out of the cup to claim the biggest win in their history.

But thankfully for Gers there was no repeat of that giant-killing act as Windass struck early before adding another two after...
