Atletico Madrid kept up their pursuit of La Liga leaders Barcelona with an Alvaro Morata double in a 2-0 win at Real Sociedad on Sunday, despite having to play the final half-hour with 10 men after Koke was sent off.

Morata, who had scored his first goal for the club in last week's 2-0 win over Villarreal, rose to head home from close range on the half-hour mark following a corner which had been flicked on by Atleti captain Diego Godin.

LAFC sign goalkeeper Pablo Sisniega from La Liga club Real Sociedad

Los Angeles FC have announced the signing of Mexican goalkeeper Pablo Sisniega from Spanish side Real Sociedad.

Sisniega, 23, played 38 times for Real Sociedad's development team in the Spanish third division and registered 14 clean sheets following his debut in 2014.

LAFC general manager John Thorrington said Sisniega will bring "valuable experience" from his time in Spain and will add depth and competition to the squad.

Real Madrid's nightmarish start to the new year continued on Sunday with a shock 2-0 home defeat by struggling Real Sociedad which left the European champions sitting outside the top four in La Liga.
