Robbie Keane, Obafemi Martins, Lee Nguyen named MLS 2014 MVP finalists

The ESPN FC panel discuss the upcoming Major League Soccer playoff matches.

Los Angeles Galaxy's Robbie Keane, Seattle's Obafemi Martins, and New England's Lee Nguyen were named as the three MLS 2014 MVP awards finalists by the league on Thursday with the winner slated to be revealed on Dec. 3.

For the first time since 2010, all three MVP finalists are on teams still alive in the MLS playoffs.

The finalists were selected from a panel of voters that included current MLS players, MLS coaches and front office staff as well as media.

United States coach Jurgen Klinsmann believes his side are ready for the tough test against Ireland in their upcoming international friendly, and expects to take away experiences from these big matches.

U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann has released four players before Tuesday's exhibition game at Ireland, including three whose teams are preparing for Major League Soccer semifinals.

Real Salt Lake's motto, "The team is the star," always seems to have a particularly disapproving edge when the team shows up in Los Angeles.
