Fernando Forestieri netted twice as Sheffield Wednesday eased to a 3-0 win over relegation-threatened Reading at Hillsborough.

Forestieri scored either side of George Boyd's effort to see off a Reading side who were reduced to 10 men in the 76th minute following a red card for Tyler Blackett.

The Royals are still in danger at the bottom, sitting five points above the relegation zone with two matches remaining.

The first major opportunity of the match came in the 23rd minute. Boyd aimed a superb cross...

Jordan Rhodes scored his first goal since Boxing Day as Sheffield Wednesday beat Hull 1-0 at the KCOM Stadium.

After Allan McGregor had produced a good save to deny him in the opening stages, striker Rhodes headed Wednesday in front after 18 minutes on his return to the starting line-up.

Hull, who had scored nine goals in their last two matches before this clash, thought they had levelled things up in stoppage time when Abel Hernandez put the ball in the net, only for the linesman to raise his flag...

Relatives of former QPR player and manager Ray Wilkins were at Loftus Road to see Rangers beat Sheffield Wednesday 4-2 on an emotional night in west London.

The hosts were 3-0 up within 15 minutes after goals from Paul Smyth, Jake Bidwell and Idrissa Sylla.

The recalled Sylla got his second - a penalty after Tom Lees had fouled Bright Osayi-Samuel - eight minutes into the second half.

Fernando Forestieri, starting a game for the first time since August, pulled a goal back for Wednesday just after the...

England youth international George Hirst has not appeared for Sheffield Wednesday's first team this season.

Sheffield Wednesday manager Jos Luhukay admitted England youth international George Hirst could be lured into a summer move to Manchester United.

Hirst, the son of Wednesday legend David Hirst, is out of contract at the end of the season and United are reported to be favourites for his signature.

The 19-year-old has not been selected for the first team this season after refusing to sign a new deal.

"It's a decision George will have to make himself," Luhukay told BBC Radio Sheffield. "I think it's...

Aleksandar Mitrovic fired Fulham to a priceless three points as their automatic promotion hopes were boosted by a 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

Second-placed Cardiff lost to Wolves on Friday night and Fulham now sit just two points behind the Bluebirds in the Sky Bet Championship.

Mitrovic struck the only goal of the game in the 78th minute when he seized on good work from Ryan Sessegnon to break the deadlock.

Fulham thought they had taken a 10th-minute lead when Sheyi Ojo turned...
