Spartak statues show how football can be more than life and death

Those who've watched matches at Moscow's Spartak Stadium - Brazil play Serbia there on June 27 - might have noticed a set of four statues next to the goalpost on the left of the dugouts. It's an unusual setting for a monument - right by the playing area, taking up precious real estate reserved for photographers.

But this is no ordinary monument: It's a tribute to the Starostin brothers - Nikolai, Aleksandr, Andrey and Pyotr...

Russia's four World Cup players to watch: Golovin, Zobnin, Kuzyaev, Miranchuk

FA, Kick It Out slam UEFA over response to Rhian Brewster's racial abuse case

The Football Association and Kick It Out have both expressed disappointment at UEFA's decision not to impose any punishment over a racism allegation made by Liverpool teenager Rhian Brewster.

No action will be taken against Spartak Moscow's Leonid Mironov after UEFA's control, ethics and disciplinary arm determined there was insufficient evidence he had used discriminatory language toward Brewster, 17, in a UEFA Youth League game in December.

Anti-discriminatory body Kick It Out said that conclusion...
