Tenerife have announced that Japan midfielder Gaku Shibasaki is to be evaluated by specialists over anxiety fears.

Shibasaki, 24, joined Spanish second-tier side Tenerife on Jan. 31 as a free agent and signed a contract until June 30, with an option to extend it should the Canary Islands-based club gain promotion to La Liga.

Real Madrid Castilla have signed Spanish goalkeeper Carlos Abad-Hernandez on loan from CD Tenerife for the next two seasons.

Abad-Hernandez will work under coach Zinedine Zidane with Real's B side and play in Spain's Segunda Division B this season.

Wigan defender Juan Carlos Garcia has been diagnosed with leukaemia, boss Malky Mackay has said.

The Championship club announced last week that the 26-year-old Honduras international had developed a blood disorder and was in hospital for treatment.

Signed by Wigan in 2013, Garcia recently returned from a loan spell with Tenerife in Spain.
