Stephan El Shaarawy showed positive signs in AC Milan's pounding of Torino on Sunday.

Stephan El Shaarawy scored twice as AC Milan recaptured some of their fading flair with a 3-0 victory over Torino at San Siro -- but a top-half finish remains the best prize on offer.

Injuries and a chronic run of bad form have pushed El Shaarawy onto the margins of the first team during another disappointing season, so his first goal in almost seven months represented an encouraging tonic.

Giampaolo Pazzini's penalty and another clinical finish from El Shaarawy propelled Milan beyond ninth-placed...

Torino retain an outside chance of sneaking into the Europa League after dominating Chievo to win 2-0 on Sunday.

The Granata flattered to deceive for 51 minutes, but once Maxi Lopez had notched an overdue opener he was quickly able to convert a brace against a Chievo side who offered very little at the Stadio Olimpico.

With two games of the Serie A season remaining, Torino are four points behind sixth-placed Fiorentina.

Chievo were under siege from the first minute of the first half to the last but...

Fabio Quagliarella (thigh) to miss remainder of Torino's season

Fabio Quagliarella was taken off in the second half of Torino's 5-1 loss to Genoa on Monday.

Torino's slim hopes of European qualification have been dealt a further blow after striker Fabio Quagliarella was ruled out for the rest of the season with a thigh injury.

The 32-year-old was withdrawn during the second half of the 5-1 defeat to Genoa on Monday and scans have revealed he will now miss the remainder of the campaign.

"Quagliarella, taken off prematurely on Monday night, was subjected to an ultrasound this morning,'' a club statement read.

"The examination showed a muscle-tendon injury...

Genoa reached seventh place in the Serie A table by keeping European rivals Torino firmly under control to win 5-1 at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Iago Falque got the hosts off to a strong start midway through the first half but Omar El Kaddouri levelled for ninth-placed Torino shortly after the hour mark.

The Rossoblu quickly re-established their lead through Tino Costa, with Andrea Bertolacci, substitute Leonardo Pavoletti and Costa making the points triply safe in the final minutes.

Torino keeper Daniele Padelli backed after horror own goal in Empoli loss

Daniele Padelli swept the ball into his own net as Torino lost to Empoli on Wednesday.

Torino coach Giampiero Ventura has refused to point the finger at his goalkeeper Daniele Padelli for the mistake that could cost the club a place in Europe next season.

Padelli's embarrassing own goal gifted Empoli a 1-0 win in Turin on Wednesday afternoon, leaving Ventura's men three points behind sixth-placed Sampdoria with four games of the season remaining.

The result ensured Lazio were guaranteed their place in Europe next season, leaving six clubs now fighting for the remaining three spots.
