A Bundesliga match between Union Berlin and Wolfsburg was stopped twice due to fan protests against Hoffenheim owner Dietmar Hopp on Sunday.

The match official halted the game after 33 minutes and once more just before half time when Union supporters unfurled banners and sang chants about Hopp.

Bayern Munich's 6-0 win against Hoffenheim finished in extraordinary circumstances as the teams played the final 11 minutes passing the ball among themselves following a brief delay caused by supporter protests against Hoffenheim owner Dietmar Hopp.

Borussia Dortmund handed 2-year Hoffenheim ban for offensive chants

Dortmund supporters will be allowed to attend matches away to Hoffenheim for the next two seasons.

Borussia Dortmund fans have been handed a two-year away ban at Hoffenheim, the German Football Associated (DFB) announced on Friday.

Sources told ESPN that the club's fans would receive a ban for chants against Hoffenheim's chief financial backer Dietmar Hopp.

"After the continued abuse of Dietmar Hopp, the withdrawal of the suspended sentence was inevitable as a consequence of the previous judgement from Nov. 2 2018," DFB Sports Tribunal chairman Hans E. Lorenz said in statement.
