West Ham target Wolfsburg midfielder Murat Saglam - sources

West Ham will face Man City in the FA Cup third round, but ESPN FC's Shaka Hislop would rather the Hammers avoid relegation.

West Ham United are lining up a move for Wolfsburg youngster Murat Saglam, sources close to the Premier League club have told ESPN FC.

Saglam has come through the ranks at Wolfsburg but is yet to make his first-team debut for the German club.

Former Germany captain Lothar Matthaus has warned clubs against signing Wolfsburg's Julian Draxler, saying he has a "weak character."

Draxler, 23, appears to be nearing an exit from Wolfsburg less than 18 months after joining from Schalke.

"He is also to be held responsible for where Wolfsburg stand right now," Matthaus wrote in his weekly column for Sport Bild.

"It's never nice when a player is whistled at by your own supporters. It's not helpful," Ismael...

Julian Draxler underlines desire to leave Wolfsburg after jeers

Julian Draxler was booed by some Wolfsburg supporters on Saturday.

Wolfsburg midfielder Julian Draxler has reaffirmed his intention to leave the Bundesliga club as soon as possible after being jeered by fans on Saturday.

Draxler, 23, said in an interview in the summer that he wanted out of Wolfsburg straight away, but the Bundesliga club refused to let him leave.

He has since lost his regular place in the starting XI and when he was brought on as a substitute in Saturday's 3-2 defeat at home to Hertha Berlin, the boos in the Volkswagen-Arena were deafening.
