The technical director of AZ Alkmaar, Max Huiberts, says the Dutch club have rejected a bid from Tottenham Hotspur for striker Vincent Janssen.

Janssen, who finished last season as Eredivisie top scorer with 27 goals in 34 games, visited Tottenham's training ground two weeks ago to discuss a move to White Hart Lane.

Ricardo Rodriguez and Luiz Gustavo will not be able to negotiate cheaper transfer fees should they fail to trigger their respective release clauses by the end of June, the club's sporting director Klaus Allofs has said.

Rodriguez, 23, and Luiz Gustavo, 28, both have €25 million release clauses in their contracts at Wolfsburg and are widely expected to leave the Bundesliga side in the summer.

But neither have had their release clauses activated with a week remaining before July 1.

Wolfsburg have held talks with Tottenham Hotspur target Vincent Janssen, according to the sporting director of the German club.

Janssen, 22, finished as Eredivisie top scorer with 27 goals in 34 games last season, while he has scored three times in five appearances for Netherlands, including in the 2-1 win over England at Wembley in March.

Arsenal target Ricardo Rodriguez tells Wolfsburg he wants to leave

Ricardo Rodriguez has impressed in recent years.

Wolfsburg left-back Ricardo Rodriguez has told the club he wants to leave this summer, according to sporting director Klaus Allofs.

Rodriguez, 23, has been linked with a move to join Switzerland international teammate Granit Xhaka at Arsenal and recently said that he would be "excited" to sign for the Gunners.

And now, Allofs has confirmed that the defender wants to leave.
