Deportivo La Coruna and Villarreal played out a 1-1 draw on Saturday night, with the visitors the happier of the two with the outcome.

Villarreal, chasing a European spot, edged further ahead in sixth thanks to their share, with Jaume Costa having put them ahead.

Deportivo remain in the bottom three, though, and this point - earned by Celso Borges equaliser - puts them a point closer to safety but they will consider this two points dropped in their bid to stay up.

Real and Atletico Madrid have both denied any transfer bans imposed on them from FIFA, over their policies for signing foreign players under the age of 18.
Barcelona trio Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar have now combined for more than 100 goals in all competitions after their side's 6-0 thrashing of Getafe in La Liga.
Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has heaped praise on striker Fernando Torres, who score Atletico Madrid's winner against Villarreal.
Former Barcelona player Luis Suarez Miramontes donated his prestigious Ballon d'Or award to the FC Barcelona Museum.

Barcelona's transfer spokesperson Charly Rexach has called for a general pardon for La Liga clubs found to have breached youth transfer regulations, saying that if Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid join Barca in being unable to sign new players there is a danger that the "world of football collapses."

Barca are currently banned from signing new players until January 2016 after being found guilty of multiple breaches of the regulations regarding the signing of foreign youngsters, in a punishment initially...

An under-strength Villarreal bossed their Primera Division encounter against Real Sociedad on Saturday evening but left the Anoeta with just a point after a goalless draw.

Victor Ruiz's disallowed goal two minutes from time was as close as either side went to breaking the deadlock, his header from Jonathan dos Santos' free-kick dubiously ruled out for offside. Ruiz was onside, with team-mate Tomas Pina having slightly strayed.

Sociedad goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli stood firm amid the Villarreal onslaught,...
