Western Sydney forward Mark Bridge has capped off his finest A-League season yet by winning his second Wanderers Medal as player of the year.

Bridge claimed the club's highest individual honour at the Wanderers' presentation night in Sydney on Tuesday, two days after Tony Popovic's side lost to Adelaide United in their third grand-final defeat in four years.

It was reward for the 30-year-old's nine goals and eight assists across a career-best campaign.

Adelaide United downed the Western Sydney Wanderers 3-1 in the A-League Grand Final on Sunday to claim the club's first premiership.

United completed a fairytale rise from chumps to champs -- from winless and bottom of the table after eight rounds -- with Bruce Kamau and Isaias scoring first-half goals at Adelaide Oval.

SYDNEY --  Arsenal have confirmed they will play two matches in Australia next year, marking their first visit to the country in almost 40 years.

The Gunners will take on Sydney FC on July 13 in 2017 at ANZ Stadium, followed by a clash with Western Sydney Wanderers two days later at the same venue.
