Ryan Brunt and Josh Simpson will be the only absentees when Plymouth take on AFC Wimbledon in the Sky Bet League Two play-off final on Monday.

Managerial sackings hit record high in 2015-16 season - study

Brendan Rodgers was sacked by Liverpool in October.

Fifty-six football managers were sacked after an average service of 15 months this season, statistics published by the League Managers' Association (LMA) on Thursday showed.

The LMA released its end-of-season report, which detailed that there were 70 managerial changes across the Premier League and Football League during the 2015-16 campaign.

The 56 dismissals -- in addition to 14 resignations -- was earlier this month described as the "worst ever" by LMA chief executive Richard Bevan. The...

Football League proposal met with backlash by lower-division clubs

Bradford would vote against the Football League's proposal for a new structure.

Bradford's joint chairman Mark Lawn has branded the Football League's proposals to introduce a fifth division to the English professional ranks as "ridiculous."

The league wants to create four divisions of 20 teams below the Premier League in time for the 2019-20 season, increasing the number of professional clubs in England from 92 to 100, but Lawn is vehemently opposed to the plan.

"We've had this structure for years because it has suited the majority of clubs, so why change it?" Lawn told Press...

Football League proposes four-division structure with 20 teams each by 2019

A new proposal would see teams take an extra year to rise from the bottom to the top of the Football League.

The Football League has proposed expanding from three divisions of 24 teams to four divisions of 20 below the Premier League by the 2019-20 season in a radical shake-up of the English club game.

With 24 teams currently in each Football League division, the plan raises the prospect of seven teams being relegated from the Championship in 2018-19 to allow for three to be promoted, while no clubs would drop out of League Two in that campaign.

Two teams would be promoted from the National League...

Northampton hire Port Vale's Rob Page as new manager

Northampton have appointed Rob Page as the club's new manager.

The 41-year-old former Wales international joins the League Two champions from Port Vale, who are now searching for a replacement.

Page replaces Chris Wilder, who left the Cobblers after leading them to promotion to take up the manager's job at Sheffield United.

Northampton chairman Kelvin Thomas told the club's official website: "We are pleased to have recruited an outstanding young manager like Rob.

"He is very highly regarded and I...
