Bordeaux edge Lorient while Angers advance in Coupe de France

Bordeaux reached the Coupe de France quarterfinals with Tuesday's win.

Bordeaux rallied to defeat fellow Ligue 1 side Lorient 2-1 on Tuesday to advance to the Coupe de France quarterfinals.

Benjamin Jeannot had given Lorient the lead two minutes after the break, only for Gaetan Laborde to equlise after the hour mark and put Bordeaux ahead 10 minutes later.

Angers also advanced with a tight 1-0 win at CA Bastia, Famara Diedhiou's 40th-minute strike enough to end the third-tier club's run.

The upset of the day came as fourth-tier Frejus stunned Auxerre of Ligue 2, with first-half goals from Neupocoussek Mendy and Karim Tlili.

Frejus are one of two teams remaining from the fouth tier; Bergerac Perigord host Lille on Thursday.
