St Pauli send fake coach to unveiling of Marvin Ducksch

German second-tier side St Pauli are a club who have forged themselves a well-earned reputation for doing things a little differently during the years, regularly hitting the headlines for their unorthodox approach.

The club's latest stunt saw them send along an imposter to the unveiling ceremony of new signing Marvin Ducksch.

The chap in question appeared wearing a mask of head coach Ewald Lienen as the 62-year-old was otherwise engaged and unable to attend the event in person.

U.S.' Jerome Kiesewetter signs with Fortuna Dusseldorf

Jerome Kiesewetter has been a regular on the U.S. under-23 team.

United States international Jerome Kiesewetter has signed with Fortuna Dusseldorf, the German second-division club announced on Friday.

Kiesewetter, 23, previously played for Stuttgart's reserve team, making just two appearances in the Bundesliga in March 2015.

He was a free agent after Stuttgart opted not to renew his contract.

The German Football League (DFL) has announced an 85 percent rise for its new domestic TV deal, which will generate €4.64 billion for the nation's top two divisions.

The four-year deal for Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga screening rights, is worth €1.159bn per season and will begin in the 2017-18 season.

Eurosport, a paid subscription service, has entered the market for the first time and has secured the rights to exclusively broadcast 43 matches per season over the course of the deal....

Former Bundesliga coach Sascha Lewandowski has died at the age of 44, police have confirmed.

Bochum police confirmed on Thursday that the former Bayer Leverkusen and Union Berlin coach was found dead in his Bochum home on Wednesday afternoon.

"We are devastated and incredibly sad," Union Berlin president Dirk Zingler said on the club's official website. "Our deepest sympathy belongs to the family and relatives of Sascha Lewandowski."
