Thomas Muller's brace powers Bayern Munich's rout over Bayer Leverkusen

Thomas Muller now has five goals in Bayern's first three Bundesliga matches.

After Bayern Munich's 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen, one might ask what all the fuss was about. Manager Pep Guardiola hyped up Leverkusen prematch as "big, big, big rivals for the title," but Bayern rose to the occasion by running out as comfortable 3-0 winners against the perennial underachievers.

Both came in with perfect records after two matches, so something had to give. Thomas Muller celebrated his 200th Bundesliga appearance with a goal in each half (with the second a penalty on the hour...

The home side aims to get back to the top of the league with a win and it goes without saying that they are considered heavy favourites playing at the Westfalenstadion against the mediocre Berlin side. BVB have been the in-form team ever since their season started, having scored at least three goals in their...

Bayern's Thomas Muller happy to pass up hat trick, let Arjen Robben take penalty

Thomas Muller had a chance to record a hat trick but allowed Arjen Robben to take a penalty on Saturday.

Thomas Muller said he did not hesitate for a second about letting Arjen Robben take Bayern Munich's second penalty in their 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, even though he was on a hat trick at the time.

Having convinced Arturo Vidal to let him take the first spot kick, which saw him move on to five goals for the season in three games, he had to convince Vidal again to step aside and let Robben take -- and score -- the next penalty.

"I'm a team player," Muller told Sky Sport Deutschland....

Thomas Muller nets as Bayern beat Leverkusen, Stuttgart hammered

Thomas Muller celebrates his opener.

Bayern Munich continued their 100 percent record in the Bundesliga with a 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen thanks to a brace from Thomas Muller and one goal from Arjen Robben.

The German champions went in front when Muller converted a pass from Douglas Costa from from close range. And the Brazilian new arrival hit the post soon after.

Hakan Calhanoglu hit a free kick off the crossbar and Stefan Kiessling wasted a good chance to equalise, before Muller and Robben netted penalties...

Bayern Munich returned to the top of the Bundesliga on Saturday evening with a 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen, who dropped their first points of the season.

Thomas Muller scored his goals number four and five of the season before allowing Arjen Robben to take Bayern's next penalty to open his account for the campaign in a comfortable win for Pep Guardiola's men.

Bayern top the table with three wins out of three, although Borussia Dortmund are able to join them on Sunday.
