David Alaba delighted with Bayern Munich's RB Leipzig cup draw

Bayern Munich's David Alaba said the anticipation levels were "huge" after Bayern were drawn against RB Leipzig in the second round of the DFB Pokal.

The match, which pits Bundesliga champions Bayern against runners-up Leipzig, will be played on Oct. 24 or 25 with the two sides meeting in the league in Munich the following weekend.

Bayern did the double over Leipzig, experiencing their first ever season in the top flight -- winning 3-0 at home and 5-4 away in the penultimate match of the season.

BERLIN -- U.S. youth international Weston McKennie drew praise after making his first start for Schalke's senior side in the 2-0 DFB Pokal win at Dynamo Berlin on Monday night.

With Germany international Leon Goretzka still working on returning to full match fitness following a muscle injury in preseason, 18-year-old McKennie won his first start for Schalke as they beat fourth-tier club Dynamo Berlin 2-0 at the Jahnsportpark.

Hertha advance to Round 2 of the DFB Pokal, but their win was overshadowed by repeated outbursts by both supporters.

Former East German champions Dynamo Berlin made it difficult for Schalke in the first round of the DFB-Pokal before the Bundesliga side finally prevailed 2-0 on Monday.
