Where they stand

With remarkable haste, Dudu jumped up off the bumpy turf at Panchkula's Tau Devi Lal Stadium even as several of his teammates fell to their knees, their arms raised high in thanksgiving. Around them, the Minerva FC players...

Minerva are currently leading the I-League points table with 29 points

Minerva Punjab host East Bengal on Tuesday in the I-League, and the outcome of their game at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Panchkula is likely to decide the outcome of the ongoing season.

Minerva have been the strongest team of the season -- leading the points table with 29 points, ahead of debutants NEROCA (28 points in 15 games, two more than Minerva). 'Bhutanese Ronaldo' Chencho an inspiration for young footballers

Chencho's six goals have Minerva Punjab lying at the top of the I-League table

Hours before Bhutan's Transport United were due to play Bengaluru FC in their AFC Cup match, they received a boost from an unlikely quarter: A trademark quality goal by Chencho Gyeltshen, captain of the national team. The goal itself had nothing to do with Transport United - it was for Minerva Punjab against East Bengal in the I-League - but was another inspirational moment in Chencho's debut season in India.

"All players are inspired [by Chencho]. Not only players, but the younger generation...
