Socceroo Bruce Djite enters into unknown with PSM in Indonesia

Even for an unusually well-travelled footballer like Bruce Djite, who was born in the United States to African parents, a move to Sulawesi in Indonesia seems exotic. The K-shaped island is more than 1500 kilometres from Jakarta, and a long boat ride across the Java Sea to the holidaying Australians in Bali.

But the former Socceroo striker seems more than comfortable with his new life at PSM Makassar.

Ex-Liverpool midfielder Danny Guthrie signs with Indonesia's Mitra Kukar

Former Newcastle United and Liverpool midfielder Danny Guthrie has joined Mitra Kukar in Indonesia's Liga 1, just after his ex-Reds' teammate Mohamed Sissoko left the club.

The Indonesian side confirmed the signing on their Facebook page, showing images of Guthrie undergoing his medical check.

Guthrie signs as a free agent, his most recent spell with Blackburn Rovers having ended last year. His contract is for one year, with the option of an extension.

Former Socceroo Bruce Djite signs with PSM Makassar in Indonesia

Former Socceroo striker Bruce Djite has joined Indonesia side PSM Makassar for the 2018 Liga One season, having last played for Suwon FC in South Korea.

The 30-year-old, who earned nine international caps between 2008 and 2010, will link up with Dutch coach Robert Alberts, a former junior with Eredivisie giants Ajax, after signing a two-year contract.

Brunei DPMM change mind about exiting S.League for 2018 season


Brunei DPMM have backed down on their threat to quit the S.League after reports emerged that the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) were ready to relax some of the new restrictions imposed on them.

Last week, the 2015 champions had posted a message on their website, stating that they intended to join Indonesia's Liga 1 next season due to the regulations imposed by the FAS, which require strict quotas on age group and foreign players.

Brunei DPMM set to leave S.League, join Indonesia's Ligue 1

S.League club Brunei DPMM have stunned the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) by threatening to quit the league and move to Indonesia due to new restrictions imposed by the ruling body.

With the S.League introducing age restrictions to encourage youth development and reducing the foreign player quota from three to two, invitees Brunei DPMM could make the decision to exit the competition.

The club announced on their official website that they are planning to play in Indonesia's Ligue 1 in 2018.
