Christian Panucci: Fabio Capello a 'disgrace' over Russian FA contract

FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke insists talk of boycotting the 2018 World Cup in Russia is nonsense.

Christian Panucci has branded Fabio Capello a "disgrace" for failing to act as his contract with the Russian Football Union (FUR) lapsed this summer.

The former Roma and Chelsea defender had been working as an assistant to Capello until his contract expired following the 2014 World Cup.

Although not offered a new contract, Panucci was asked by FUR if he would continue working alongside Capello and another assistant, Massimo Neri, who was also working for free following Russia's return from Brazil.

Three Points: Kiatisuk's Thailand look good for AFF Suzuki Cup title

Singapore were beaten 2-1 by Thailand at their new National Stadium on Sunday evening. Photo Credit: Football Association of Singapore

If Bernd Stange had lauded Thailand as the team to beat before their opening Group B match at their new Sports Hub home, the German tactician would have been fully convinced after Kiatisuk Senamuang's side defeated Singapore 2-1 on Sunday evening.

For Singapore to retain their ASEAN title, they will need to play to their strengths. That means maximising set-piece situations. As for Thailand, they are hard to predict when it comes to who is in their starting lineup and who will come off the bench...

Yaya Toure: Manchester City's Samir Nasri suffering from France retirement

France manager Didier Deschamps believes his side have taken a lot of confidence away from their performance at the World Cup.

Yaya Toure has told RMC that Manchester City teammate Samir Nasri is feeling low away from France's national team, and says the Bleus outcast "really loves his country."

Nasri, 27, announced in August he was retiring from international football after missing out on France's 2014 World Cup campaign, despite an excellent season with City as they lifted the Premier League title.

France boss Didier Deschamps suggested the former Arsenal and Marseille midfielder would have been in his 23-man selection...

Eric Gerets: Eden Hazard can lead 'best-ever' Belgium to Euro 2016 glory

The ESPN FC team answer your tweets in regards to international break, Belgium's struggles as a team and the injury debacle for Manchester United.

Former Belgium captain Eric Gerets has told Reuters that Eden Hazard has the talent to overcome his international goal drought, and has backed the winger to lead the Red Devils to glory at Euro 2016.

Hazard, 23, has failed to score in his last nine international games, drawing a blank in Belgium's frustrating 0-0 Euro 2016 qualifying draw at home to Wales on Sunday.

Despite a lack of goals from Hazard -- who scored 14 times in the Premier League for Chelsea last season -- Al Jazira FC coach Gerets...

Beppe Marotta: Gianluigi Buffon not to blame for Italy draw vs. Croatia

AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani expresses his opinion on the fan disruptions during Italy-Croatia.

Gianluigi Buffon should not be chastised for his mistake which cost Italy the lead against Croatia in Sunday night's Euro 2016 qualifier, according to his Juventus' general manager Beppe Marotta.

Buffon let Ivan Perisic's shot squirm under his body as Croatia cancelled out Antonio Candreva's opening goal within five minutes at the San Siro in Milan.
