Missed chance by Gerson part of rough day for Roma against Chievo

A look at the best moments from Serie A's top sides in matchday 16.

Roma saw their title hopes dented by wasteful finishing and a wonderful performance by Chievo goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino, who was on hand to push away anything that the Giallorossi managed to put on target.

Roma had more than two-thirds of possession and 26 shots -- more than any other team this season -- and while veteran Sorrentino was on top form to deny Roma, it was the away side's profligacy that stopped them from returning south with all three points.

If Patrik Schick was unlucky to see...

Giacomo Bonaventura the hero as Gennaro Gattuso bags first Milan win

Check out the best moments from Serie A's top sides in matchday 16, as Juve miss the chance to take the top spot in Serie A.
After Gennaro Gattuso's promotion to first-team manager at Milan, Gab Marcotti assesses his managerial history.

It took some time, but Gennaro Gattuso finally got his first win as AC Milan coach with the Rossoneri's 2-1 victory over Bologna on Sunday night. A brace from Giacomo Bonaventura sealed the win and, while Milan's play wasn't convincing, it was a huge relief for their fans to get the three points.

Positives

Switching to a 4-3-3, Milan dominated early and had a direction about their play. While they still need to be sharper and more consistent, there were certainly positive signs and this win should...

Samir Handanovic flawless in Inter's 0-0 draw with Juventus

Inter manager Luciano Spalletti reveals his disbelief at his side's performance after their 0-0 draw against Juventus.

Inter managed to come away from the J Stadium with a precious point after a hard-fought 0-0 draw. Juventus had most of the chances, Mario Mandzukic forcing a fine save off Samir Handanovic and seeing his follow-up be cleared off the line by Joao Miranda. The first half ended with the Croatian seeing a header hit the bar. A more subdued second period saw possession football rule the roost, Inter's only chance being sent just wide by Marcelo Brozovic.

Juventus defenders provide clean sheet against Inter

Giorgio Chiellini, playing his 450th match for Juventus, was always in the right place Saturday.

The Derby d'Italia ended up being a tactical battle, and while Juventus piled on the pressure in hopes of earning the home win, they couldn't make the most of their chances and walked away with a 0-0 draw.

Inter started the match well, but both sides seemed more determined to hinder the opponent's attacking game than produce any magic, making it a miserable night for both strikers on the pitch.

Juventus made the bold decision to leave out both Paulo Dybala and Douglas Costa, yet they still created...

Inter have chance to show they are truly back in Derby d'Italia

Paolo Bandini and Gab Marcotti preview Inter's clash with Juve and how it may reflect on their surprising pursuit of the Serie A title.
Stewart Robson and Shaka Hislop explain why Inter Milan have the upper hand when they face Juventus in Turin.

It was a tad odd to see Inter fans mock Milan last week. Four-nil up against Chievo, the entire San Siro began to jump, yelling: "If you don't jump, you're a Rossonero." Why didn't they choose this weekend's opponent Juventus? Perhaps it was because the hated Diavolo had just sunk further into ridicule, or because certain habits die hard.

Still, it felt weird, because since the match-fixing scandal Calciopoli, most Inter faithful have it in more for Juventus than they do for their crosstown foes....

Summer signings Andre Silva, Lucas Biglia come up short again in Europe

Gennaro Gattuso's wobbly start to life as coach of AC Milan continued as Rijeka blanked the Rossoneri 2-0 in Croatia.

As if this week couldn't get any worse following Sunday's disaster at Benevento, AC Milan put in a lacklustre effort as they fell to a 2-0 defeat at Rijeka in the Europa League. Top spot in Group D had already been secured and so the game didn't mean much, but a win would undoubtedly have been a welcome boost for Gennaro Gattuso and his men.
