Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini out for three weeks as injury crisis deepens

Mario Mandzukic scored his first goal in a Juventus shirt to lift the Italian champions to a 2-1 friendly win over Lechia Gdansk.
Lechia Gdansk striker Adam Buksa scored after a nice one-two with his team-mate Bruno Nazario, who returned his pass with a brilliant back-heel, during their 2-1 friendly defeat to Juventus.

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri is facing a defensive injury crisis after Giorgio Chiellini was ruled out of action for three weeks.

Chiellini, 30, is out for 20 days with a torn thigh muscle sustained during the Bianconeri's 2-1 friendly win over Lechia Gdansk.

Andrea Barzagli is out with a torn groin muscle and both defenders are set to miss the Supercoppa against Lazio on Aug. 8, which leaves Juve heading into the new season short on numbers at the back.

Juventus 'greatly perplexed' by punishment over Turin derby

Juventus Stadium's Curva Sud is set to be closed for the meeting with Udinese on Aug. 23.

Juventus are to appeal the Italian FA (FIGC)'s decision to close the South Stand of their stadium for one match due to a fan's misbehaviour during their 2-1 defeat at Torino last season.

One Juve fan -- identified by CCTV cameras -- was seen throwing a cherry bomb from the visiting fans' sector into the area where home fans were located at Torino's Stadio Olimpico during April's derby.

Juve were initially ordered to close part of their ground for two matches towards the end of last season, but...

Napoli agree fee for Tottenham defender Vlad Chiriches

Vlad Chiriches could be departing White Hart Lane after just one season.
Vlad Chiriches has left Tottenham after two seasons.

Romania defender Vlad Chiriches has joined Napoli after the Serie A club puchased the player outright from Tottenham for an undisclosed fee on Thursday.

The 25-year-old moved to north London from Steaua Bucharest for a reported fee of €9.5 million in August 2013, but he struggled to cement a regular first-team spot at White Hart Lane and will now be moved on.
