Liverpool, Tottenham considering Jamie Vardy move - sources

Jamie Vardy leads the Premier League in goals this season.

Liverpool and Tottenham are keeping a close eye on Leicester City's in-form striker Jamie Vardy, sources have told ESPN FC.

Vardy has been one of the stars of the season so far and is currently the top scorer in the Premier League with 10 goals to his name.

The 28-year-old has scored in seven consecutive Premier League games to join a select band of players after netting the winner against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Vardy is now a regular in Roy Hodgson's England squad and has won four caps for his country after working his way up from non-league football.

Leicester signed Vardy from Fleetwood Town in 2012 for a non-league record fee of £1 million and he helped them win promotion to the Premier League in the 2013-14 season with 16 goals.

Vardy also played a key role in helping Leicester defy the odds to stay in the Premier League last season and he continued his rich vein form into this campaign.

His impressive displays this term have since attracted the attention of Liverpool and Tottenham, who are both in the market for striking reinforcements.

There is far more to Vardy's game than just goals, however, and his energy and work ethic would fit right into Jurgen Klopp's style of pressing at Liverpool, while Tottenham chief Maurico Pochettino sees Vardy as someone who would provide a perfect foil to Harry Kane with his selfless running and creativity.

Leicester, for their part, are keen to keep hold of Vardy, and the player still has three years to run on his current deal at the King Power Stadium after signing a new deal last summer.
