Neymar disappears as PSG flatter to deceive in fortunate 4-1 win vs. Nantes

Edinson Cavani's double led the way as PSG cruised to a home victory over Nantes and added to their lead atop the table.

PARIS -- Paris Saint-Germain moved six points clear at the top of Ligue 1 with a 4-1 win over Nantes at Parc des Princes on Saturday. Claudio Ranieri's men were well organised defensively but once Edinson Cavani broke the deadlock in the first half, Les Canaris crumbled and the Uruguay international helped himself to another while Argentina international pair Angel Di Maria and Javier Pastore both scored. Despite the convincing final score, Nantes inflicted a lot of the damage upon themselves.

PARIS -- All eyes will be on Neymar when Paris Saint-Germain welcome FC Nantes to Parc des Princes in Ligue 1 on Saturday.

Even though he has been with the Brazil national team for the past fortnight -- albeit in Paris, Lille and then London -- the samba superstar has been headline news pretty much the entire time.

Much of the reason for that has been speculation over Neymar's happiness since joining PSG, whether he gets on well with teammate Edinson Cavani and coach Unai Emery, if he feels above...

PARIS -- Paris Saint-Germain coach Unai Emery has stated his belief that Neymar will stay with the club and help them to future glory amid speculation over his happiness at Parc des Princes.

Neymar was reduced to tears during a postmatch news conference while on international duty with Brazil last week following recent reports claiming that he wants to return to Barcelona, the club he left for a world-record €222 million this summer.

With Andrea Pirlo retiring, who is football's new King of Cool?

For different reasons, this quartet are ready to take on football's honour as King of Cool.

Andrea Pirlo, football's undisputed King of Cool, has officially hung up his boots after three seasons at New York City FC and said last call to a storied career in Italy and for his country's national team. No one has come to embody the notion of "cool" more than Pirlo: from his perfectly disheveled hair that would make Ron Burgundy jealous to the fact that he's not impressed by you, ever, Pirlo commanded your attention and admiration. And what about his insouciant style of play -- one that,...

Julian Draxler praises Neymar's attitude since his arrival at PSG, playing down reports of tensions at the club.

La Liga president Javier Tebas acknowledges that Neymar's summer departure from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain has had an effect on La Liga, but claims it would be a "bigger blow" for Spain's top flight to lose Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.

PSG broke the world transfer record by signing Neymar from Barcelona for €222 million in August.

Tebas has been highly critical of PSG's summer spending and recently accused the French giants of infringing financial fair play rules.

Inexperienced England stifle, earn admirable draw vs. full-strength Brazil

Gareth Southgate says England earned a respectable result against a Brazil side he considers the best in the world.

Gabriel Jesus explains why he thinks Brazil's scoreless draw against England was reflective of their entire year.

LONDON -- Here are three points from Wembley as England and Brazil played out a 0-0 draw in an international friendly.

1. Goalless draw uneventful but not pointless

Two friendlies, 180 minutes, 20 players used and no goals. Those bare facts might lead you to conclude that England's two games over this last week have been a waste of time. That would be the negative spin, but the positive is that Gareth Southgate's severely depleted side have not lost to two of the favourites for next summer's...
