Physical match vs. Stoke could provide the jolt struggling Swansea need

Sitting two points behind 17th-place Hull with five games left to play, Paul Clement has described Swansea's match against Stoke this Saturday as a "must-win" fixture. In truth, Swansea must win another couple of games beyond Saturday to have a reasonable chance of survival. Swansea should be on a high following last Saturday's shootout against Crystal Palace which saw the Welsh club prevail 5-4, scoring a long overdue glut of goals in the process. However, for all the offensive prowess on display, the Swansea defence was awful.

Bradley has rotated his central defensive pairing, switching back and...

Positives

Five goals from a team averaging less than one a game is a huge improvement. Fernando Llorente found his scoring touch and should start the next few matches, while Jefferson Montero reminded everyone why he is still one of Swansea's most dangerous players.

Bradley has been trying to find his best starting XI, but has forced players to fit...

Ecuador's Jefferson Montero returns to Swansea City with broken hand

Jermaine Jones and Jefferson Montero
Jefferson Montero, right, will not be able to play for Ecuador this month.

Swansea City and Ecuador winger Jefferson Montero is to consult a specialist after fracturing a bone in his hand.

The 27-year-old suffered the injury in a fall during Sunday's 3-1 defeat by Manchester United after coming on as a half-time substitute.

Montero was able to finish the game and then flew straight to Ecuador for international duty where an X-ray revealed the damage.

A statement on the Swansea website said: "Having been excused [from] international duty, Montero is currently flying back...
