Chelsea's Frank Lampard criticises Didier Deschamps over N'Golo Kante injury

Frank Leboeuf feels Olivier Giroud may need to leave Chelsea in order to secure regular first team action.
Gregg Berhalter explains why he played Christian Pulisic in multiple positions in the USMNT's win vs. Cuba.
ESPN FC's Stewart Robson says there's only one way for Christian Pulisic to get extended minutes.

Frank Lampard has said that France's handling of N'Golo Kante's groin injury during the international break was "not a laughing matter."

Kante suffered an injury while warming up ahead of France's Euro 2020 qualifier against Iceland last Friday, a game his nation went on to win 1-0, and the midfielder then sat on the bench during France's 1-1 draw with Turkey on Monday. The injury has ruled the 28-year-old out of his club's Premier League match against Newcastle this Saturday.

N'Golo Kante has proved he's one of the most valuable players in soccer no matter his position

Frank Leboeuf feels Olivier Giroud may need to leave Chelsea in order to secure regular first team action.
Kante made his name as a defensive midfielder and took Leicester and Chelsea to league titles. Now he's playing a different role but is just as effective.

A couple of years ago, N'Golo Kante might have been the most valuable soccer player in the world.

In August 2015, Leicester City signed the relatively unknown French midfielder from Caen for £5.6 million. The season before his arrival, Leicester finished with 41 points. In Kante's only season with the club, Leicester finished with 81 points, winning the most improbable championship in the history of modern sports.

Then, in July 2016, Chelsea signed the by-now-well-known French midfielder...

We asked our experts to pick the XI they felt would be both indispensable and unbeatable in the pursuit of long-term glory. There were some basic rules:

Kante 8/10, Pulisic 7/10 but Chelsea suffer penalty shootout defeat in UEFA Super Cup

The FC crew praise Liverpool's backup goalkeeper Adrian for his starring role in the Reds' penalty shootout victory over Chelsea.

A penalty-shootout defeat against Liverpool (2-2 after extra time) will be a tough one to take, but Frank Lampard can take plenty of encouragement from his side's display in the UEFA Super Cup in Istanbul. After Sunday's 4-0 season-opening loss to Man United, this was a much-improved display in nearly every way.
